Educational inclusion
Abstract
Educational Inclusion is today an aspiration of all educational systems in Ibero-America and it could not be otherwise if we aspire for education to really contribute to the development of fairer, more democratic and solidary societies.
The concern for Inclusion in Ibero-America arises as a consequence of the high levels of exclusion and educational inequalities that persist in the vast majority of educational systems, despite the significant efforts that have been invested to increase the quality and equity of education, the main objective of educational reforms in the region.
Although education is not the only key to changing this state of affairs, it should have all the means at its disposal to prevent inequalities from increasing or deepening as a result of the deficiencies and limitations of education itself. In this sense, education systems should double their efforts to equalize opportunities for the most vulnerable students and generate better learning conditions to help them compensate for their differences in entry.
