Abstract

Inclusion of deaf students in any educational context requires the use of augmentative communication systems and the incorporation of the scientific advances that provide with resources and technical aids that make access to communication, information and knowledge possible, as a central theme in the elimination of barriers for learning and participation. In this paper we make a description of those which we considered essential, and which must be available to deaf children with specific needs, facilitating their access to school learning in equal conditions to their hearing peers.

Doctora en Psicología, Especialista en Psicología del Lenguaje. Profesora Encargada de Cátedra de la Diplomatura de Logopedia de la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. Profesora invitada en programas de postgrado relacionados con la Discapacidad Auditiva. Curso de Experto en Audiología del Instituto de Neurociencias de USAL. Subdirectora de las Escuelas Superiores Universitarias de Logopedia y Psicología del lenguaje de UPSA (1987-1993) y Jefa de Estudios de la Diplomatura en Logopedia (1993–2001). Publicaciones y participaciones en proyectos de investigación relacionados con la discapacidad auditiva. Miembro activo de la AELFA) perteneciendo a su junta directiva (1994-2000).

Isabel Pérez Sánchez, Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca

Doctora en Pedagogía Terapéutica por la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. Logopeda en el Centro Base de la Gerencia de Servicios Sociales de Salamanca. Profesora Adjunta de la Diplomatura de Logopedia de la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. Profesora invitada del área de Personas con deficiencias físicas y sensoriales del “Master de Integración de Personas con Discapacidad: Habilitación y Rehabilitación” de la Universidad de Salamanca. Ha impartido ponencias en Congresos, Simposios y cursos de formación de profesores. Ha participado en la publicación de capítulos de libros y revistas.
