(Dis) connections between feminist pedagogy and inclusive education
Keywords:
Feminist pedagogy, Inclusive education, Exclusion, PovertyAbstract
In this article we argue that while feminist pedagogy precedes the inclusive education movement, the literature does not reference the theoretical and conceptual contributions made by feminist educators. Furthermore, gender is not explicitly addressed or developed within the framework of inclusive education. First we analyze the presuppositions and objectives of both perspectives. Then we discuss the importance of considering gender in terms of exclusion/inclusion and poverty.
