Abstract

The Education of youth and adults today develops in diverse socio-educational and cultural contexts in which motivation in students is essential to achieve their reintegration and inclusive educational communities based on the comprehensive development of learners. The objective of this study is to determine what educational actions are being carried out in a school for the Education of Young People and Adults (EPJA) in the city of Viña del Mar, Valparaíso Region, Chile, to promote and facilitate the school reintegration of young people and adults who are part of their educational community. This exploratory-descriptive qualitative research develops the single case study methodology, applying the narrative technique for educational actors, plus a consultation with two experts. Among the findings, the importance of developing educational actions for school coexistence, inclusion, response to the learning and motivational needs of students to facilitate their school reintegration and adaptation to an educational context that is friendly and empathetic with their life experiences stands out. It is concluded that the recognition of educational needs in EPJA allows the development of actions appropriate to the educational context of the students and their families, from a social justice approach.
