Abstract

This document analyses the possibilities that the primary school curriculum framework offers for providing an adequate educational response to children with academic talents. The article explores the methods available for identifying the specifi c educational needs of these students, specially as regards specifi c talents; it describes the adaptations of the curriculum that could be relevant to these particular characteristics and that could promote the integral development of these students without neglecting their talents, and the role of the teacher in this setting. The study is based on research carried out by the Hineni Foundation, and was requested by the Ministry of Education and its Criteria and Guidelines for Curriculum Adaptations in Primary Education program.
