Unaccompanied Migrant Minors in a world of (dis) protection. A multidisciplinary vision: The Spanish case

Abstract

This article is intended to constitute an approximation, with a focus on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary barriers that erode the inclusive education in professional practice with the collective numbers of migrant minors unaccompanied in the context of protection of minors in Spain. In this sense, this main contribution focuses, from a proactive, pragmatic, critical vision and openness to change and analyze a set of causes and factors that generate problems in values of respect, social justice and equity in the approach and the management of cultural diversity, emphasizing this typology of collective immersed in migratory projects by its greater exposure to situations of vulnerability and social exclusion. Similarly, some are provided as key guidelines, with the purpose of introducing improvements in intercultural educational practice and humanizing the educational role in this field of psychosocial intervention.

Author Biography

Héctor del Sol Flórez, Universidad de La Laguna

Licenciado en Educación, especialidad Historia en la Universidad Pedagógica de Sancti Spíritus (Cuba 1998). En 2008 se gradúo de Máster Oficial Europeo en Intervención y Mediación Familiar por la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de La Laguna. Ese año alcanzó la Suficiencia Investigadora por la referida institución académica. Se ha destacado por su experiencia docente universitaria en el extranjero como formador de formadores y como educador de menores migrantes no acompañados en España. Ha participado en eventos, seminarios, congresos y proyectos de investigación de carácter nacional e internacional, siendo acreedor de reconocimientos de UNICEF por su destacada labor en favor de la infancia. Sus publicaciones en España y el extranjero están en la línea de la protección del menor, con especial énfasis, en el colectivo de menores migrantes no acompañados, la intervención con familias y la mediación familiar. Actualmente es Doctorando de Educación de la Universidad de La Laguna (en fase de Tesis Doctoral). La misma versa sobre el proceso de inclusión de los menores migrantes no acompañados en la isla de Tenerife.
