Abstract

This article addresses the school experience of re-entry to secondary education in contexts of poverty and vulnerability and the social bond, in educational institutions located in the Conurbano of the Province of Buenos Aires (PBA) and the City of Buenos Aires (CABA) in Argentina. It is based on the contributions of my doctoral thesis (Krichesky, 2021) focused on the PBA Schooling Centers for Adolescents and Young People (CESAJ of PBA; the CABA Reentry Schools and Popular High Schools of said City. These institutions alter the traditional school format of secondary education. This thesis uses a qualitative methodology based on interviews with managers, teachers and focus groups with students, together with secondary sources (National Population and Housing Census (CNPV) (INDEC, 2001-2010), and the Annual Information Surveys of the Federal System of Educational Information of the Ministry of Education (2006-2015). This article aims to develop a frame of reference around the school experience and the social bond. On the other hand, based on the perspective of teachers and students, it analyzes the specificity of re-entry, with a focus on school biographies, sociability processes, the configuration of the student's profession and the anticipations of the educational future.
