The article presents a proposed model for mainstreaming sexuality education [SE] within the Chilean school setting. It is developed based on a larger-scale research project that analyzed the configuration and implementation of the national SE policy between 2009 and 2020. The content is organized into four sections. The first two discuss the core concepts of Comprehensive Sexuality Education and describe the current context of the Chilean school system. The third section outlines the fundamental guidelines, structured around three key components: (1) competency development, (2) sustainability of actions, and (3) active participation. Finally, the fourth section operationalizes these guidelines through a “toolbox” that includes: (1) the Multilevel Whole-School Approach; (2) specific teaching strategies for integrating SE into different curriculum areas; and (3) a teacher-driven action-research approach supported by the Theory of Change. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for pilot studies to assess the effectiveness of the model in various school contexts and proposes future research lines to strengthen its applicability and sustainability.
