Abstract

Teachers are seen as key persons to implement inclusive education. Therefore, to learn about their attitudes towards this field, is extremely important to achieve the educational change in this area. The objective of this study was to examine the attitudes towards inclusive education of the English teachers at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán of Honduras. The results of this study show a moderate attitude by the teachers towards inclusive education. This information has implications for teacher training for the achievement of an optimal school inclusion considering the demands and needs of the current school.

Lirio Flores, Universidad de Deusto

Investigadora del equipo de alto rendimiento Desarrollo de Competencias y Valores (DECOMVA), Profesora de la Facultad de Psicología y Educación, Máster en Necesidades Educativas Especiales y Doctoranda en el programa de Innovación Educativa y Aprendizaje a lo Largo de la Vida de la Universidad de Deusto (Bilbao, España). Licenciada en Educación por la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán (Honduras). Directora y Docente en centros de educación bilingüe (inglés-castellano) durante 15 años. Principales líneas de investigación: educación inclusiva, formación de profesorado, actitudes del profesorado y profesorado de inglés.

Lourdes Villardón, Universidad de Deusto

Doctora en Psicología y Máster en Educación Especial. Es catedrática del Departamento de Didáctica y Desarrollo Curricular de la Universidad de Deusto e investigadora principal del equipo Desarrollo de Competencias y Valores (reconocido dentro del sistema universitario vasco). Tiene numerosas publicaciones sobre educación superior y una dilatada experiencia en asesoramiento y formación de profesorado.
