Supporting inclusion in education: A case study on the learning and living together in early childhood education in Castilla-La Mancha

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the educational process of a child with disability. Focused in the learning process and in the positive factors that this coexistence has provided. Participant observation was done in the school for six months, and interviews with key informants. The data show the child has improved positively in his learning. Among the most important facts, we can highlight the positive change in his teacher´s concept about inclusion, the sound development of her professional work in the classroom, educating in values such as tolerance and solidarity.

Vera Lúcia Messias Capellini, Universidad Estadual Paulista

Licenciatura en Educación por la Universidad Metodista de Piracicaba. Master y doctorado en Educación Especial de la Universidad Federal de São Carlos. Actualmente es profesor en el Departamento de Educación y el Programa de Posgrado en Psicología del Aprendizaje y Desarrollo de Recursos Humanos /UNESP-Bauru. Tiene experiencia en la educación, con énfasis en la formación inicial y continua (presencial ya distancia) de los docentes, la enseñanza de la práctica y la evaluación del aprendizaje. Líder del Grupo de Investigación: La inclusión de personas con discapacidad y los contextos de aprendizaje y de desarrollo y miembro del Observatorio Nacional de Educación Especial, ambas registradas en el CNPQ. Coordinador del I, II y III Congreso Brasileño de Educación de la UNESP, en Bauru. Coordinador del Curso de prácticas educativas inclusivas, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Educación desde 2008 hasta hoy.

Santos Lucas-Torres, Universidad de Alcalá

Estudiante de Magisterio Educación Primaria en la UAH. Escuela Universitaria de Magisterio (Guadalajara), colaborador en la investigación como voluntario. Ejerce durante un curso escolar labores de apoyo en el aula. Sus intereses como estudiante en formación están encaminados a la inclusión educativa.
