Teacher training in cooperative learning and gifted students: an inclusive approach

Abstract

The improvement of the attention of gifted students from an inclusive perspective that envisages an adjusted response to the specific characteristics appears as a clear need in schools. Cooperative learning is presented as an adequate methodological strategy to provide quality attention to these students in an inclusive context. A resource to realize this response in classrooms which needs to be enhanced is teacher training. It is in this context where a research team implements a teacher training program in the field of gifted students and cooperative learning. The aim of this article is to show the development of this program that has been carried out as part of the Research Project of Excellence R & D titled "The Impact of Cooperative Learning in the inclusion of gifted students in the Community of Madrid".

Juan Carlos Torrego Seijo, Universidad de Alcalá

Doctor en Ciencias de la Educación por la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (premio extraordinario), Profesor Titular de Universidad en el Departamento de Ciencias de la Educación (área de Didáctica y Organización Escolar) de la Universidad de Alcalá, coordinador del grupo de investigación “Inclusión y Mejora Educativa: Convivencia y Aprendizaje Cooperativo” y director del Experto en Aprendizaje Cooperativo. Sus principales líneas de investigación se centran en aprendizaje cooperativo, diversidad, orientación y convivencia escolar.

Carlos Monge López, Universidad de Alcalá

Doctorando en Planificación e Innovación Educativa, contratado predoctoral (FPU-UAH) en el Departamento de Ciencias de la Educación (área de Didáctica y Organización Escolar) de la Universidad de Alcalá, miembro del grupo de investigación “Inclusión y Mejora Educativa: Convivencia y Aprendizaje Cooperativo” y experto en Aprendizaje Cooperativo. Sus principales líneas de investigación se centran innovación docente, formación del profesorado y aprendizaje cooperativo.

Mercedes Pedrajas López, Universidad de Alcalá

Doctoranda en Educación, contratada predoctoral (FPI-MINECO) en el Departamento de Ciencias de la Educación (área de Didáctica y Organización Escolar) de la Universidad de Alcalá, miembro del grupo de investigación “Inclusión y Mejora Educativa: Convivencia y Aprendizaje Cooperativo” y estudiante del Experto en Aprendizaje Cooperativo. Sus principales líneas de investigación se centran en inclusión educativa, aprendizaje cooperativo e innovación docente.

Concepción Martínez Vírseda, Universidad de Alcalá

Licenciada en Psicología, Profesora Asociada en el Departamento de Ciencias de la Educación (área de Didáctica y Organización Escolar) de la Universidad de Alcalá, colaboradora del grupo de investigación “Inclusión y Mejora Educativa: Convivencia y Aprendizaje Cooperativo” y codirectora del Experto en Aprendizaje Cooperativo. Sus principales líneas de investigación se centran en convivencia escolar, aprendizaje cooperativo y orientación.
