GenderAbstract
‘For above all, this Gilanic world will be a world where the minds of children - of both sexes - will no longer be imprisoned. It will be a world where limitation and fear will no longer be systematically taught through myths that tell us how inevitably evil and wicked we human beings are. In this world children will not be taught epics about men who are celebrated for being violent or fairy tales about children who get lost in scary forests where the women are malevolent witches. They will be taught new myths, epics and tales in which human beings are kind; men are peaceful; and the power of creativity and love - symbolised by the sacred Chalice, the holy receptacle of life - is the supreme principle. For in this Gilanic world, our inclination for justice, equality and freedom, our thirst for knowledge and spiritual enlightenment and our yearning for love and beauty will finally be released. And after the bloody detour of androcratic history, both women and men will at last discover what it means to be human’.
With this ending of a book that deals with the history of humanity, which reveals an era in which relationships were based on love, solidarity, justice, recognition of the other, represented by the author with the Chalice, and a different one, in which primacy and power over the other and nature were valued, valuing violence, force and war, signified by the Sword, we would like to begin this new issue of the Latin American Journal of Inclusive Education.
In speeches, agreements, congresses, etc., the importance of education in improving the quality of life of people and societies is raised. We know that it is not only education that is responsible, but we hope that it can contribute something to a society such as the one described in the author's dream.
