This monograph is dedicated to the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the World Conference on Special Needs Education: Access and Quality, held in Salamanca, Spain, from 7 to 10 June 1994, and organised by unesco and the Government of Spain. This Conference constituted a major international commitment to advance the right to education, particularly for students with special educational needs and others in situations of exclusion, laying the foundations for the development of inclusive schools and education systems, which have been strengthened and deepened in subsequent international commitments. In addition to celebrating the anniversary of the Conference, this report reports on its contribution and influence in Latin America, from the perspective of different educational actors from five countries in the region.
