From the Salamanca World Conference to the Cali Forum: 25 years of struggle

This year marks the 25th anniversary of an educational and socio-political milestone that changed our way of seeing education: the World Conference in Salamanca, co-organized by UNESCO and the Government of Spain. The Latin American Journal of Inclusive Education cannot ignore this event without paying a well-deserved tribute.
There are many reasons that justify this commemoration, but surely the most important is that Salamanca was the seed that gave birth to the inclusive education movement worldwide. A process that has since continued and expanded to become a challenge for education as a whole, encompassing all students, all teachers and all schools.
