Inclusive education is an ethical imperative that, based on a rights-based approach, places at the centre the valuing of diversity in all its expressions as a means to combat all forms of discrimination and exclusion, and to guarantee equal learning opportunities under equal conditions for all students. This undoubtedly ambitious and even utopian vision of education implies a constant and in-depth review of the values, policies and educational practices that are deployed in schools, and which explicitly or implicitly reproduce cultural patterns that contribute to the development of sexist, racist, classist and empowering attitudes and behaviours in schools.
